September 10th, 11th and 12th - Norwalk Oyster Festival.
Well our crew was asked to bring our Demo to the Norwalk Oyster Festival in Norwalk Conn this year. We got to work with Captain Kidd and the Freemen of the Sea and the Bawdy Buccaneers.
Friday - Got to the site arround 12:30 for set up then we all went to pick up hotel rooms to eat and change. Got back to site to plunder(as all good pirates should) around 6:30. Boy it is really funny how the folks comming to the Festival try not to look at the pirates. Got to harasse three army fellows on leave from Iraque. They we really good sports.
Saturday - Got to site at 8:00. Finished putting up props and had our briefing. Full day.
Around 9:30 I gather the Freemen of the Sea to join our crew to remember all who had fallen on 9-11. It was very emotional. Shortly after we started with a Britsh Officer escortng Truley to the main stage in shackles and all of us singing Hoist the colors then freeing her. Captain Jack Sparrow came by to entertain the kids. Captain Kidd and Flynte had an encounter with a bit of sword fighting and historical banter. Well he is on his way back to England for the trial. His crew was awsome. Crow decided to take on Flynte but Flynte being the stuborn captain she is stood her ground and was toe to toe right in his face. But my crew also stepped in and stood their ground. It was awsome.
We did two Demos and they were ok. Later that evening right after the last demo we got a surprise visit from the ship The General. They were shooting a cannon at us and a few small arms. But we suprised them when the Freemen of the Sea join us with their cannons and we pullled out all of our firearms and cannon. They did not expect so much firepower from the shore. So they turned tail and sailed on. The Freemen fo the Sea are a great crew to work with.
Sunday - Weather looked like it was going to rain but once again the great sea god smiled on our crews. There was a suprise vist from Captain Davy Jones later in the day. The best thing is when a pirate goes up to the little ones and offfers them a gold coin. The look on their faces are priceless. Much the same as Saturday except our demos were two of the best. I am really proud of the crew. Break down went pretty smooth.
Working with the Freemen of the Sea was a wonderful experiance. We learned more stuff about the cannons and other things. We are after all the Newbies on the block and any coaching we recieve from an experianced crew is always good. So thank you Captain Kidd and the Freemen of the Sea for letting us work with you. I hope we can work together again.
A special thanks to Rachelle for letting us play. She is a great organizer and a friend. My crew had a blast. (get it blast - cannons and flintlocks) Lets do it again.

July 3rd - Crew Party
Well on Saturday July 3rd we had our annual crew party at the captains house. We got a suprise this year and Captain Tom Cruddbeard from the Pirates of the Dark Rose came to join us. When we did the cannon he the did us the honors of calling the cannon commands because our Master Gunner could not join us.
Plenty of food to go around. Some crew came that we have not seen for a while because of the distance they travel. Phe is our newest and finile crew member. She recieved her ships papers at the party and is now our Pilot's mate. A good time was had by all. A few camped out at the house. Our Quartermaster Lord Charles and Quarter Gunners Mate Lady Lunaria renewed their wedding vows at the hand of our ships chaplin Daithi Dubh.

June 2010
June 11th, 12th and 13th: Pirate Rendevous, Damariscotta Maine
As you all know over the weekend we had the pleasure of working with the pirates of the dark rose and the ancient ones at the Pirate rendezvous.
On Friday night most of the demo crew had a pirate dinner at the church that consisted of chicken legs and homemade corn beef. We spent most of the time getting reaquainted with Captain Tom, Bloodthirsty and many more of the Pirates of the Dark Rose. Our crew was greeted by them with open arms and open hearts. Being a fellow cannoneer we gave Captain Tom the blessing of St. Barbara in a pendent a gift from our crew.
On Saturday was the fun. We did the bulk of the demo explaining the history of some of the firearms used on board ship. The crowd was pretty interested. Some of the crew then left Battery Point to join the defenders on the other side of the bridge. When the Pirate ships came in the fiing commenced. Firstmate, Captain and Master gunner got off four shoots in arround a ten minute span with our cannon. We were keeping up with Captain Toms big guns. He had three. Let me tell you ever though we were the smallest we were just as impressive. Our smaller arms were pretty impressive also. Quartermaster got of 21 rounds in a little under 15 min of firing. Quite impressive I must say. Everyone else was averaging six to ten shoots. I must say I was quite proud of their preformance. After the live firing finished the Pirate crew invaded the shore. Then the sword fighting began. Of course the defenders lost. The Pirates then went on to convince the town folk to help them find their treasure. Clues were passed out to the wee ones to help them find the treasure.
They also had a costume contest and a crew muster for the kids. A wonderful group of teens known as the Sea Scouts did sea chanities. They were excelent. Your Captain was quite speachless (yes folks it is true) when the town and their ships Scribe awarded our crew the cane with the silver skull - the reenactors of the year award. I was quite proud of the crew and had to hold back tears of joy. But we do have the best crew arround and you guys keep proving that.
At the final part of the day all the long arms proceeded to board the two ships to do a salute to a fallen sailor that lost his life not to far off shore. Some of us hung arround for a while back at Battery Point to chill. Then we went over to Schooner Landing to have dinner with the crew of the Mus Roos. We shared stories and made plans for next year.
In the evening those of the crew that camped sat arround talking both evenings and just being the family we are.
I am proud to have the best crew. We could not have accomplished any of this with out their hard work and dedication. Weather it comes to Guild Hall, NHRF stuff and now our new adventures, I know they will always be there to stand behind their captain and their fellow crew mates. So pour yourself a big glass of rum, you all deserve it
I want to thank Greg (their ships Scribe) , Captain Tom CrudBeard, Bloodthirsty Barbarba and The Pirates of the Dark rose for their wonderful hospitality. They made us feel at home. We are looking forward to more adventures with them.

May 2010
May 1st 2010:
Crew got together for our second rehersal for the year. Lots of kinks but coming along.
May 14th, 2010: Set up For NHRF
On Friday crew gathered together to get the site set up for opening day of NHRF. Set up Guild Hall, The medical tent and the Black Powder Tent. All went pretty smooth. All the big things got set up and everything ready for next day. All went back to the Captains house to crash for the night. Looked like tent city in the yard.
May15th 2010: Opening day NHRF
The day was a bright sunny and warm one. Crew arrived at 8:00am to finish the setup and drag out all the props. We decided to sell Pirate Pickles this year. Arround 10:15 we all set out for the opening gate to do the opening volly shot. Tazzy, Lord Charles and Firstmate Greylocke stayed behind to get the cannon ready for my que.We got involved with the plot once again this year. Once we were in place at the gate the Queen welcomed the crowd. I signeled the cannon waited for the Jestor to yell pirates and the we did our opening volly throught the gate. Funny thing the crowd must have jumped ten feet in the air when we shot. We thought one teenager was going to have an accident. Jestor quits and says he don't like pirates. After lines are spoken I then inform the Queen that we are having a memorial for the old town crier and ship mate imp. We then proceeded to the back field for the service. The service was very emotional for alot who knew imp. Everyone spoke a few words. We then proceeded to place roses at the base of the portrait of imp. I then did a last raising of the tankard and gave the order to fire the longs arms in honor. We then proceeced to do our regular demo. Went pretty well but still needs work at this point. One more demo done before end of the day. During jestor tryouts Phelan and myself proceeded to the stage and when Rufus tried to do a cartwheel knocked himself out I ran to his side and cradled his head in my bosum. Needless to say Rufus now loves as he puts it Pyrateteers. Got lots of laughs from the crowd.
Pickles did well this day. Made the money bcack to pay for them anyway.
May 16th 2010: Second Day NHRF
Day went well same as the first except we did not do the memorial cermoney. We have added a new act to out back field. Jake the Archer. He holds three world class records and is NH state champion.
May 22nd and 23rd: Second Weekend NHRF
This weekend went well. The scenes with the cast went smoother. Our demo finily evolved into a fun but professional preformance. The last one we did was our best. By George I think we got it. The crew showed real personality and great interaction. Congratulations everyone. You did good. I decided to ask for donations at the last demo. We have been putting out of our pockets for the last few years. The responce we got was awesome. The crowd thought we were informative and professional. We made enough from the pickles to pay for the generator that died, the pickles and the cooler that was purchased for the pickles(showed up 2 days after faire)
Guild Hall was a success and we did a Wench walk that was fun and safe.
All in all it was tiring but fullfilling.
Our next adventure is June 12th at the Pirate Rendezvous at Damariscotta Maine where we will be working with the Pirates pf the Dark Rose.

Ships Log: January 1st 2010 thru Febuary 6th 2010
January 1st: Lets start with a happy new year to everyone. On New Years Eve some of the crew and friends gathered at our Ships Sailmasters Mates - Anni to celebrate the coming of the New year. Very relaxing evening.
January 30th: Most of the crew gathered at Birka Market place, put on by the SCA in the Manchester Radission Hotel. There was shopping till you be a dropping and displays of both heavy sword fighting and fencing. Here we also hooked up with some Ren friends along with crew mates. The crew got to spend some time with my twin sister Rena Maria. She went in my place for I had business with the King in England.
February 6th: Some crew and friends gathered at Anni's for the annual Rennie winter get together. Plenty of food and we all got to watch the movie Yellowbeard. This helped with the Faire blues we all get over the winter.
Next adventure for our crew is New Hampshire Renaissance Faire in May. Hope to see you all there.
